Product Description
The LockSAF is designed to protect your valuables and yet still give you quick access to those valuables or your firearms stored inside. These units are easy to program and use, all it takes is to press the activation button once and then place a programmed fingerprint on the reader to open the safe. These safes are made of 9 gauge steel to provide a strong tamper-proof box. Four pre-drilled holes in the bottom panel make it easy to mount inside a drawer, a wall, or to any flat surface. This added feature secures the safe to a fixed object and helps keep it out of harm's way or from curios eyes. The outside dimensions are 13.98 in (W) X 10.24 in (D) X 4.57 in (H). The spacious interior of these safes is lined with foam padding and will allow storage for items up to 12 inches in length. The fingerprint recognition window is located on the front panel of the safe. The unit operates on a standard 9V battery (included with the safe) that is located within the same panel under an easy access cover. A back-up key is also provide just incase you want to allow incidental entry into the safe without having to program additional fingers into the memory. You can program up to 10 fingerprints into the memory Every LockSAF is guaranteed against manufacturing defects for one full year.

I bought this because i wanted a biometric safe that had a key backup
If you've looked, there are only a few that fit this bill.

I've had it for about 3months.

I chose this model b/c there are no reports of the locking mechanism failing, unlike
a main competitor.
The safe was sold out on the manufacturer's website, at retail price. Delivery off Amazon was
no problem.
Registration of two fingerprints was simple, and the device is pretty reliable.
It is not 100% reliable on the first read, probably more like 75%, a second attempt will
always get it open. It's fast, but not instantaneous. Also, it makes a click as it opens.

If you think you need to be able to open a safe silently, with 100% accuracy (one read), and instantaneously, you will be disappointed.

On the other hand, if you need a reliable biometric safe that works well, and has a back up in case of failure, you'll find this perfect.

I bought this gun safe for my husband for Christmas. He wanted to keep his handgun and clip in his nightstand for easy access, but out of the hands of our two little boys. This Biometric safe works like a charm...very easy to program with our index fingerprints (took just minutes to do for both of us) and has opened instantaneously every time. I test it out every now and again, just because it works so well. You press an activating button that lights up the fingerprint scanner and then swipe your finger. It's a very sturdy, hefty metal box with a nice thick foam pad and plenty of room for a gun (or two) and several clips. It also comes with keys to open the safe. We are both very happy with this product.

I have one of these on my nightstand by my bed. I feel secure knowing that my handgun is within easy reach for emergencies while they're protected from curious young hands when I'm not carrying it. The fingerprint device works everytime I use it and has never gave me a problem yet. Power consumption is relatively low. I've been using it for over a year, and have not changed the 9v battery yet. It's a great investment if you have young children and a great peice of mind knowing your pistol is secure anytime.
